Offered for your consideration is a Lovely Antique Bisque Shoulderhead Doll her Original Riveted Kid Leather Body. This Pretty Girl was manufactured around 1915 by the Armand Marseille in Köppelsdorf, Thuringia, Germany. She measures approximately 19" Tall and has a Beautiful Face with thick, slightly Feathered Eyebrows, and Exquisite Cobalt Blue Eyes. Her eyes are stationary and do not open and close. Her Bisque is Beautiful with Rosy Cheeks, Coral Colored, parted Lips, exposing 4 teeth, and she has a Dimple in her Chin. Her Cardboard Pate is firmly glued to her head. On her head she wears a synthetic Brown wig, which is okay, but I would love to see her in a human hair wig! The Kid Leather Body is in Very Good Condition, with a bit of tape around her right ankle ... Perhaps from a sprain!!! She has the desirable Rivets at the shoulders, hips and knees. Her Bisque Hands are in Excellent Condition. She is incised on the back of her head, "No. 3500" and below is marked, "AM 2 DEP". I believe the "DEP" means she was made for the French Market. This Lovely Bisque Head Girl wears a Spectacular Dress! I am not sure of the material, but it feels silky and smooth and is a lovely light blue color. Over the dress is the most Beautiful, Antique, Sheer Lace embellished with tiny yellow millinery flowers and silk bows that drape down the front. The blue silk bows can also be found on the sleeves. Beneath her dress, she wears a lovely antique slip with pin tucks and lace along the bottom edge. On her legs she wears white stretchy stockings that go just above her knees. On her feet, she wears newer, blue shoes with a snap closure. And let me not forget ... She has a Fabulous Bonnet made of Creamy White silk (?), Creamy White Tulle, Antique Lace and tiny millinery flowers! The Dress and Bonnet alone are well worth her price! Ready to Display this Lovely Doll in your Cabinet? She comes with a Large Kaiser Doll Stand. Also, any overpayment $1.00 or over will be refunded to your PayPal account.

Welcome to our auction! Many of you know us as longtime collectors and sellers of antique and vintage Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter holiday memorabilia, paper ephemera, antique dolls and toys, fine jewelry and lovely old china and glassware. We are also given the honor of selling fine and rare pieces for other collectors. We are so proud to present a beautiful and ethereal-looking early antique bisque shoulder-head doll on her original kid-leather body. This little darling makes a gorgeous display! Please meet Juliette. She has pretty single-stroke hand-painted eyebrows, hand-painted upper and lower lashes, coral-shaded lips, rosy cheeks and several tiny teeth showing in her sweet little open mouth. Her gorgeous sapphire-blue glass eyes are fixed, and her head turns slightly to the side. She is approximately 14” tall without her clothing. Little Juliette is wearing knitted old undergarments, cream-colored socks, a cotton slip, a pretty little bonnet with scalloped trim and a phenomenal long, antique christening gown. She wears a very pretty antique or vintage pearl necklace as well! We are having trouble determining her manufacturer, as most of her incised marks are under the kid leather. What we believe we are seeing is a “D” with the number 93. This may attribute her to the German doll makers Cuno & Otto Dressel. Her long and flowing locks appear to be synthetic but it is one of the prettiest wigs we have ever seen on an antique doll. The original old cardboard pate is attached to the wig. The wig is shiny, full and luxurious and is in a very pretty shade of light reddish-brown. Juliette’s bisque head and shoulder plate have NO damage. We see NO chips, hairlines, cracks or repairs. There is some glue and tape residue to the opening of her head. Sweet Juliette has been treasured by her families and has had many loving repairs to her kid-leather body. Her legs and feet have been taped to prevent sawdust leakage. One arm is taped near a bisque wrist. The other arm is taped at the shoulder to provide support. One of her bisque hands has light chipping to two fingers. Her antique gown does have some tiny tears and some careful repairs. Juliette’s costume, along with her beautiful features, give this doll a very romantic countenance and presence. She is a charming little girl and she displays beautifully. She would make an ideal acquisition for anyone who enjoys authentic German or French antique dolls and antique toys. WE LOVE OUR BIDDERS! We are thankful for you every day.
