This is a cabinet size 16" French doll, marked on the back of her socket head: Limoges, FRANCE, G. She has dark, multi-stroke eyebrows, set blue glass eyes that I think are original, painted lashes, a two tone painted open mouth, five molded teeth and pierced ears with pearl earrings. The painting and coloring on this doll is done exceptionally well. She has repaired hairlines on both sides of the head just in front of both ears. In photo # 8 you also see a mold line running up from the ear. The restoration is well done, won't propagate and is not noticeable. This doll's head is clean and beautiful. She is on a typical French style body with straight, unjointed slant hip legs. The body has been restored, repainted and possibly replaced. This was an auction doll, so the body may or may not be original to the head. Non-the-less it fits her and she displays well. She wears modern contemporary factory made clothing in the Victorian style. Although the clothes were not made for this doll, they fit her beautifully. Her head is stuffed with tissue paper for transit, her black plastic pate is simply "snapped" in place and her replaced wig is glued to that - all easily removable. This is a very nice cabinet size doll, dressed in the style of her day and ready for display. The doll stand is not included. I do not ship out of the continental US unless you inquire first.

Up for auction is a fine Jutta bisque head doll. The doll is 22 inches tall. The head is marked "550 Germany Simon & Halbig" and the body is stamped "C. O. D. Jutta" with the appropriate stamp- see pictures. (C. O. D. stands for Cuno & Otto Dressel.) The head is bisque with blond curly hair and brown eyes, and the body is a composition body. The clothes appear old or are likely original. The joints are experiencing some age-related condition issues- please see pictures. The hair seems to be in good condition. Under flashlight inspection, there appears to be no hairline cracks in the bisque head. We left the doll in as-found condition, and we will leave it up to the next owner to decide on the extent of restorations- please see pictures for other condition-related issues. This exceptional doll came from an estate of a prolific doll collector, and we will be listing more unique dolls over the next few days. We are not doll experts, so please message us with any questions or requests for more detailed pictures. Also, make sure to check out our other listings for more fine dolls and other antiques!

antique french? bisque shoulder head doll with kid body This doll has some issues with the kid body as detailed below but is definitely worth the restore. There is a number '3' on the back of the head. There are fixed blue spiral paperweight eyes, pierced ears, and the head can swivel in it's socket. Without the long garments the doll is about 14" long. The hands and wrists are bisque. The mouth is closed. There is hair with a bow but not in great shape as seen. The hair is detached. The clothing looks like it could be original and perhaps is a christening outfit? There is soiling and staining but overall intact. Please look at the pictures for the condition of the kid body - there are wide splits at the joining of legs with torso and the sawdust? is pouring out. I have rubber banded a plastic bag here to retain some of this 'stuffing'. There is glue or other type of adhesive to areas at top of the head. I see one very short hairline crack at top of head to the small hole at top right (facing her). One piercing at ear has a small chip. I am not a doll expert - please let me know if you need more information or pictures. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR ALL THE IMAGES!
