Estate Find: We have no idea what type of doll she is nor her age, she was found along with Victorian items and textiles. Due to her attire and detail to it we believe she is an older one, Lovely Girl !! There were several dolls and doll items from this Estate we have already sold and we believe there are a couple of other items we haven't Listed yet and another china head doll as well. She is the largest doll of them all. We don't know dolls so we will Offer what we can, do ask any questions you may have. We only put Kestner, French & German in the Title hoping she would find her new Owner. We DO NOT KNOW her MAKER !!!!She was in the floral box shown in the picture, we do not know, but don't believe it was her original box as its a bit short for her. The end is torn off probably because she doesn't fit in it. If you don't want the box we could possibly ship her cheaper, let us know. She is Beautiful, just needs to be Restrung ! She is about 14" long, top of head to foot beautiful face with multi stroke eyebrows, dots at the corners of her eyes and in her nostrils, painted eyelashes, rosy cheeks, perhaps eyeliner on her upper lids, painted lips, open mouth with tiny teeth with brown glass eyeslooks like there may be wax on the back of her eyes, when they shut her right one has some dirt in it. one ear is pierced the other didn't go all the way through her face was dirty, we cleaned it a bit but not totally, looks like we left some baking soda on her teeth in the pictures her eyes open and shut her wig has become detached from her head, a little flattened down in the back from where she has been laying on it her hands and fore arms show some age related wear, no breaks the cords that connect part of her are broke, her right leg and head, she needs to be restrung, her leg parts are there she has a beautiful dress on that is very clean, just very wrinkled as well as several other layers of clothing, all in tact and clean, maybe a small spot here and there. Except for the layer closest to her body, well don't know what or why but it is stuck to her body, does come off though. Looks like a layer of something that was on the entire doll body has melted and her first layer of clothing is stuck to her but can be pulled away from her body with out damage. It looks like a one piece very Victorian looking with a couple of buttons at the top and pantaloom like at the bottom. It is also on the sleeves of the next layer where it came off of her arms, a long puffy sleeve top that buttons up the back and she has a matching petticoat that buttons as well. She then has on a felt skirt and then her frilly dress with lots of ribbons, even ties with ribbons in the back. She has a little bit on her dress where her arms were laying against it. OOhhh, you can see underneath the frill at her shoulders was a gorgeous pink that and has faded with time. She then has knee high stockings and love the Victorian button up shoeswe did try looking on her back side for identification, but found nothingthe numbers 192 and 2 are on the back of her headWe describe our items to the best of our ability, do ask any questions you have before Purchasing. On Jul-10-14 at 08:00:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Had a another Buyer ask about shining a flash light in her head, tried to post the question but because we attached photos for her it wouldn't allow us to Post it. So here is basically what we sent to her on Questions of Cracks, repairs and condition, we added a bit as we ran out of characters on the message! Shined a light in her head & have enclosed photos to you, not sure what we are looking for, but see no cracks in the bisque, there is a scratch on the outside left back of the head above 192, not a crack, almost looks like a manufacturing thing??, see listing picture as well, and some one wrote 69 in pencil on the right hand side, see listing picture. As stated we do not know dolls, and assume she is all original. We found her & several others in an Estate we Purchased that had mostly textiles, all were found within large boxes buried amongst blankets table cloths and clothing. The textiles range from the late 1800s to present day. She was found in that box as in the pictures, although she doesn't fit in it, her feet hang out. Varnish, yes, so that is what that is. She must have been stored some where hot as it did stick to her first undergarment & sleeves of the blouse, it being closet to her body. Believe her dress had never been removed, you could tell the ribbons on the back had never been untied, anything unbuttoned, just wrinkled from laying on it. I carefully untied her dress to look for markings on her back, realizing her under garment was stuck to her body, I carefully pulled it loose from her back, found none. I imagine you can undress her and try to clean the undergarment as it di not tear and can be removed from her with ease. Don't wish to remove all her clothing but from what we saw there did not look to be in breaks to her body, the varnish is just, I guess you could say, missing in place and on her underpiece and blouse instead of her body totally. Her Dress has a couple of spots of varnish on the outside, where her arms where laying on it, they are not real real dark stains & there are a few splits in the fabric up around her waist on the right front side I just noticed, all of these get lost in the ruffling of her dress as I had to look for all of it. Her fingers/ hands area show the most wear, but they don't look to be broke off, just either a loss of coating/varnish or worn as shown in the first picture. Was she even played with, her face was dirty, but not her clothing and her brown leather shoes show a little bit of wear as shown in the pictures. Hope this Helped. If anybody has any other questions we will do our best to answer them for you. Also, there were other dolls from the boxes that have already sold, and a couple of other doll items to List, & 3 boxes we haven't even looked in. Since there is so much interest in this dolly, will look through the remaining boxes and try to get the rest of the doll stuff listed in the next couple of days for combining and saving on shipping if interested in what else we find. Do know there is a smaller wig in a beautiful box, and a china head type doll so far..
