Wonderful old antique Heubach 9" - 250 15/0 Koppelsdorf Germany bisque head doll with sleepy eyes, open mouth and teeth. Composite body, which needs to be restrung, and painted shoes and socks. Wig is I assume original to the doll with the original protective netting still in place. Fresh from a fine old Denver estate, and offered with No Reserve. Condition is as pictured, and hopefully they will give you the best idea of her overall condition. She has a soiled face from decades of storage and some soiling to her body, which needs to be restrung. No damage or repairs that I could find and very good to excellent overall condition. Have a look at my other auctions, happy to combine shipping. Thank you for your bids and I strive for 5-STAR service. Please read the after auction information following my photos. Your satisfaction is guaranteed, please contact me with any questions or concerns. I'm easy to deal with and I will make it right if need be. Happy hunting, Clark! The .99 beginning bid is NOT a reflection of this doll and outfit's condition or rarity! I will be starting ALL of my Betsy doll auctions--the GOOD dolls, BETTER dolls and the BEST dolls--with a beginning bid of 99 cents. This auction is for one of the BEST BETSY dolls. HAVE FUN! WINNING BIDDER—There is a shipping discount for Priority Mail postage purchase on-line, so if you would like this discount, please wait for an invoice before you pay. I do not add a handling fee. Check out my other vintage 8” Betsy auctions with the Buy-It-Now option—you won’t have to wait to own one that matches your personal taste!! See them in my Seller’s List: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/antiq45_W0QQ_nkwZQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZQQ_mdoZQQ_sopZ1 THREE day auction ONLY— This 8” Betsy Mc Call and her outfit were made only in 1957—the first year of this doll’s production. This stunning 8” Betsy Mc Call with original outfit is looking for a new home. She seems to have experienced very little ‘play’ from her childhood owner and will be an asset to your collection. Please read the complete description BEFORE you bid. You will find that I am very picky in my description. Betsy’s positive points: -- curly and thick, BLOND hair sewn to a wig mesh base (only used on 1st year dolls) with BOTH ORIGINAL BARRETTES and NO BALD SPOTS; longer bangs give her face a more proportional look -- beautiful bisque-like face complexion with NO CHEEK RUBS, no other missing painted facial features and bright blush -- lovely BLUE eyes with perfect upper lashes -- head still has its ORIGINAL rubber band, but the band was loose, so I added a piece of elastic cording to support the original band, allowing the head to be snug and to hold poses nicely -- arms are on ORIGINAL rubber band, not loose, and will hold poses nicely (A little band has been added inside of the original to help it hold snuggly.) -- 1st year plastic knee pegs still present and not broken -- knees bend easily; knees do not hold poses NOTE: I am not listing the swingy lower legs under the ‘Not-So-Positive’ section because I feel that this is caused by the character of the mechanism and the passage of time, not by abuse. -- lighter, PINKY, clean, EVEN SKIN TONE overall— not faded or yellowed by exposure bad environmental effects NOTE: Depending on your monitor, this Betsy's coloring may lighter than the coloring shown in the pictures. It's not a deep pink and it's not a faded pink--it's a lighter pink. -- NO STAINS -- no thin dark crack/stress lines on the lower legs which is often seen on these vintage dolls -- McCall mark in a circle on her back -- I haven’t forced her to sit in fear that the crotch seam would open wider. -- Her legs are stable enough to allow her to stand with a lot of careful positioning of her arms and legs (a little swingy as are most). She will still need a stand for safe display. -- LEGS ARE NOT SWINGY AT HIPS Not-so-positive points: (I am being very, very nit-picky about things that some other Sellers wouldn't have bothered listing and which may have gone unnoticed without my mentioning them. I do not believe that they take from her loveliness, nor her collect ability.) -- eyes need help opening and closing (probably caused by the elastic cording that is supplementing the original band; not a bad thing—I just wanted to mention it) -- right knee has 1 small crack and a small flare; left knee edge is perfect -- crotch seam has opened (just a ‘hair’s width’); left side seam has about a 1/8” area between her waist and the leg opening that looks like it wasn’t glued well at the factory. Clothes: Betsy is wearing the 1957 version of the ‘Coed’ outfit. What is missing to make this outfit complete is a pair of red shoes and ‘fat’ socks. The jumper is in nice, displayable condition, however the ties are rough from being played with and the ‘brass buttons’ are no longer shiny. The bodice is supposed to be darker than the skirt (which it is), but it does looks dingy even though I soaked it in OxyClean. The jumper does not have holes, tears, or missing stitches. The matching romper is in Excellent condition. It’s clean and has no stains, tears or holes. The only issue was a loose snap which I have sewn back down. The shoes are vintage originals to Betsy. Both shoes still have solid knobs and No Splits in the ‘buttonholes’ of the straps. I do not button the shoes any more to insure the integrity of these 50-year-old items! *** These items came to me through e-bay purchases. I have a smoke free home and I do not smell unpleasant odors on them, but I cannot guarantee what environment they came from. In my opinion, this beautiful doll will make an excellent addition to your collection. *** I do combine shipment on multiple wins of my other auctions to save on shipping. Please e-mail any questions before you bid. Cost of purchase less shipping will be refunded if item is shown to be not as described. Buyer must contact seller within 2 days of receiving item and before item is shipped back. Selling price refund AFTER item has been received in the same condition it was sent. No refunds on shipping. Please keep this in mind when bidding. *** Feedback- I appreciate your feedback, and will leave feedback for you as soon as yours is received…thanks! *** If you would like shipping coverage, please ask before you pay. Other payment methods are available. The U.S. buyer pays for First Class shipping or Priority Mail--see ‘Postage Calculator’ in this ad. There is a shipping discount for Priority Mail postage purchase on-line, so if you would like this discount, please wait for an invoice before you pay. I do not add a handling fee and want to state that I recycle my mailing materials. I will try to mail USA packages within 2 working days. *** INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS Please contact me for exact shipping costs! I do not add a handling fee. Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. To do my part to conserve fuel, I am going to the post office once a week now. Most packages will be sent within 3 days, usually much less. Payment is due within 5 days of auction end. Thanks for looking--and bidding!

Here we have a sweet little antique bisque socket head dolls house/Mignonette doll with fixed brown glass eyes and 5 piece jointed composition body. She measures 6 inches high and is unmarked as far as I can see but her hair is stuck very firmly down so it’s difficult to tell. I presume she is German and late 1900’s. She has a bisque head which swivels/turns. Her eyes are fixed brown glass and painted brown eyebrows. She has an open mouth with 4 white teeth showing. She has a tiny white mark on one of her cheeks which may be a graze in the bisque. She has a blond wig which needs attention. Her body is composition and jointed at the arms and legs. She has painted black strappy shoes. The paint/varnish on her body and legs has worn away, the shoes are ok but the rest looks quite worn. It’s all there though and no breaks or chips though just worn. She wears a cream crochet dress with a blue ribbon at the waist, it has a brown stain on the hem. Underneath is a cream cotton petticoat edged in lace and a net bodice. I think the petticoat is older than the crochet dress which is obviously not originally. Charming little doll and displays really well. I always combine postage so please look at my other items .I charge postage at cost only and always refund if I can get it cheaper. Photos are part of the description. Any chairs/tables etc in photos that are not described above are props and not part of this auction. I call this doll my chubby because her legs look chubby to me. She is possibly a Hertwig but I really don't know for sure except she looks exactly like the Hertwig dolls pictured in the Hertwig book by Florence Theriault. She stands 5 1/2" tall. She has glass stationary eyes that are a light brown or hazel color. She has a red painted mouth with white painted teeth, single stroke eyebrows and individual painted eyelashes. She is loop jointed at the arms and legs. She is marked 83 over 50. I believe that her wig is original and seems to be in 2 sections which I have tried to show in the pictures. It will need a little styling. She is dressed in a half slip which is a little small for her and a pretty little red polka dot dress with tiny lace trim. I have included bloomers and a doll stand for her. She has painted white stockings with blue bands on the top and black painted 1 strap shoes. I have listed her sister doll who measures 6" in another auction.I will be listing many small dolls in the upcoming weeks just in time for Christmas.Payment expected within 3 days of auction close.Happy Bidding!
