WE make every effort to list all significant flaws in our color-coded description section. Please read this carefully! I have recently been very disappointed with buyers who suffer buyer's remorse after purchasing a used antique item and then, being too shy to return it, they hit me with poor ratings on the eBay Star system, even though they give me positive feedback. Unfortunately eBay has devised a new rating system that ignores good feedback and magnifies petty complaints. This adversely affects my business and credibility and the rate I must pay eBay. The buyer should be aware that this is an auction and as a seller, I am not setting the price. Since my doll is starting at $.99, it is, YOU, the buyer who determines the value of this item, not the seller. Antique Burgundy & Blue Gown for Large China Head, Bisque or Papier Mache Doll

Lovely Antique Burgundy & Blue Gown for Large China Head, Bisque Head, or Papier Mache Doll AUCTION LIMITED TO USA ONLY ~ This is a 3 Day NO RESERVE auction ~ Note ~ For those with allergy concerns: We have a smoke free home, with 2 cats in residence. Estate Find: Beautiful antique burgundy and blue doll gown - Auction is for the gown only, as pictured (NO doll, mfg box / packaging, or other items included). Please note: Actual colors of gown in person may differ somewhat from auction photos, as all computer monitors have color differences. Approximate measurements of gown - Please note that gown is deliberately designed to have a shorter front hem and a longer trailing back hem. Front of gown: 20" long (from front neckline to bottom of front hem) Back of gown: 28" long (from back neckline to middle of back hem) Bust area: 14" around Waist: 14" around Shoulder to shoulder: 8" Sleeves: Each sleeve is about 7.5" (measuring towards the far side of sleeve) Neckline: Roughly 6" around This fabulous antique dress was carefully hand made by a very talented seamstress (there are no artisan or factory tags or markings), and designed for a large antique doll, such as a China Head, Bisque Head, or papier mache. The colors are exquisite and perfect for the late fall and winter holidays. Gown features soft burgundy fabric with an inset front panel of blue fabric with a floral motif, and "tea" color lace trim. The underneath of the front panel flaps are lined in mustard yellow fabric. The front of gown and the hems of both sleeves are accented with yellow stitching. There is a small round brooch glued to the center of the front neckline - I think it's made of metal (not sure), and the color is brown (you can see underlying dark metal color peeking here and there through the brown). The interior of gown is lined in terra cotta color fabric, with stitching in black and cream, and the little back flaps of the gown (at the waist level) are lined in the same blue floral fabric as the long front panel. We are not experts on fabric types, but can see that all of the fabrics, stitching, and trim are definitely antique. The stitching on gown looks to be a combination of hand stitching and possibly some old machine stitching. Gown is in good condition, although being antique / previously owned, it's not perfect. There is a very faint pleasant "age" scent (sort of like cedar - perhaps gown was stored in a cedar trunk for many years?), and there are no perfumes, air fresheners, moth ball, or smoke scents. The colors are still rich and subtle, although there may possibly have been some color fading over the years. There are some rips / tears here and there in fabric, especially on the mustard yellowing lining fabric. and along edges of blue floral fabric. Gown looks pretty clean, considering its age, although there is some overall soiling from age and/or normal handling. There are streaks of lighter color all over the gown, but I'm not sure if this is fading or staining, or perhaps just some sort of effect of this type of fabric (not sure, but wanted to point out). There is also some fabric wear and color rubs / fading here and there on the burgundy sections of gown, and also on the blue floral fabric. The gown is wrinkled from being stored away for many years, so there are folds and creases, with rumpled lace, and some of the flaps stick out (gown needs to be gently pressed). There are some areas here and there where the stitching as loosened or is coming undone which need to be repaired, such as along the front flaps on the front panel, as well as some of the interior stitching, which is loosening some. There are loose hanging threads here and there, with some fraying on interior seam edges, and quite a bit of fraying on a cream color backing that is at the interior neckline area. Some of the interior seam edges were left "raw" edged, or have "pinked" edges (from pinking shears). The lace has aged to a "tea" color, with some staining. The little diamond shaped attachment on the front panel of dress has wear and some fraying / texturing from age. The brooch at the front neckline has wear, with chipping and color loss / rubs of the brown color (you can see the underlying natural metal color underneath the brown in some areas). PLEASE NOTE: We leave any restoration / repair, cleaning, pressing, etc. of antique burgundy and blue gown to you. Antique French Jumeau SFBJ bisque socket head doll

This is a 23" tall SFBJ doll that was made by the Jumeau factory. She is marked on the back of her head: R, SFBJ, 60, PARIS, .6. These SFBJ doll heads were made by many different French companies, but according to the Coleman's doll encyclopedia an incised "R" means the head was made by Jumeau after they joined the SFBJ conglomerate. High on the back of the head is a scratched in "V". This would have been put there by the artisan who prepared the green ware. Artist's marks left on the doll heads is most common on Jumeau dolls. This doll's head and face are lovely, there is, however, a forehead repair on the right side. I think it's a "Y" shaped hairline, the tail of the "Y" running through the eyebrow and to the top of the right eye. She was put together before I got her and the repair is strong. I have photographed the repair, but it's hard to see. This is one of the prettiest SFBJ dolls I have seen. She has multi-stroke eyebrows, almond shaped eyes with blue set glass eyes, painted lashes, red eye and nose dots and an open mouth with four molded teeth. Her complexion and face painting are beautiful. She's on a typical straight leg SFBJ composition body that is in great condition and mostly in its original paint. The arms have been repainted. She has all of her fingers and toes but I think one hand is probably a replacement because they don't exactly match. Her head is stuffed with tissue paper, her pressed styrofoam pate is lightly attached and the replaced, old, handmade wig is attached to the pate. I don't know what the long auburn wig is made of (possibly human hair) but suits her and matches her eyebrows exactly. This doll wears proper reproduction clothing. Her all lace ecru dress is trimmed with satin ribbons, fabric flowers and pearls. She wears a victorian style "head-band", wired bonnet that is trimmed in satin and lace. She wears pale pink socks with leatherette tie shoes. This doll is spectacular, a joy to look at and to own. The doll stand is not included. I do not ship out of the continental US unless you inquire first. Any customs duties a re the responsibility of the buyer.

Estate Find: Antique red dress features blond lace and open-work trim, designed for an antique bisque head doll. Auction is for the dress only, as pictured (NO doll, mfg box / packaging, or other items included). Please note: Actual colors of dress in person may differ somewhat from auction photos, as all computer monitors have color differences. Approximate measurements of dress: Length: About 11" long (measuring from front of neckline to bottom front of dress hem) Bust area: 10" around Waist: A little over 10" around Shoulder to shoulder: Almost 4.5" Sleeves: Each sleeve is about 4" long Wrist Opening: These are both gathered and are quite snug, at about 3" around. Neckline: About 4" around This adorable antique dress was carefully hand made by a very talented seamstress (there are no artisan or factory tags or markings). It was designed to fit a bisque head doll, but would also be appropriate for other types of antique dolls. Dress is made of red cotton, and features blond lace at the neckline, with red and blond open work trim at the front bodice, both sleeve openings, and at dress hem. There is also pin tuck detailing on the dress hem, and the wrist openings of dress are gathered. Dress fastens in back with 5 white "pearly" buttons. The buttons may possibly be vintage replacements, and may not be as old as dress itself. The dress features old machine stitching, but there may also possibly be a few areas with hand stitching (I'm not an expert, so it's hard for me to tell). Dress is in good basic condition, although being antique / previously owned, it's not perfect. There is a very faint pleasant "age" scent (sort of like cedar - perhaps dress was stored in a cedar trunk for many years?), and there are no perfumes, air fresheners, moth ball, or smoke scents. Some of the stitching here and there on dress is coming loose and/or needs to be repaired, such as where the sleeves are attached to the bodice. There are also a few small stains on dress. Tagged Antique Bisque Composite Morimura Brothers My Darling Character Doll 12″

I've been asked to sell an antique doll collection. Offered here is a circa 1919 antique doll from Morimura Brothers in Japan. The doll retains its tag and is marked My Darling MB NY. The back of the bisque head is marked 3-3. The head has fixed blue glass eyed an open mouth and dimples in each cheek and on the chin. The doll has an open mouth and is showing two upper baby teeth. Other facial features are hand painted. The doll's body is composite and is jointed at the head, shoulders and hips. It is 12 inches tall. Clothing, while old, may not be original. The clothing has been sewn on so I was not able to completely investigate the body of the doll. Composite showing is in very good condition with no cracks. The head is also in very good condition.
